Back pain is caused by a number of different issues such as discs, ligaments, tendons and joints of the spine. Back pain can be as a result of either acute injury or chronic problems such as poor posture or ongoing stress on the back from occupation.
Other causes of back pain can be arthritis such as RA or OA.

It is important to assess the individual cause of the back pain and diagnose whether the pain is as a results of low back strain, muscle strain, sciatica or prolapsed disc issue.

Symptoms of Back Pain

  • Muscle spasm
  • Shooting or stabbing pain
  • Pain that radiates down your leg or up the back
  • Limited mobility of your back
  • Difficulty standing and walking
  • Lateral Shift

Treatment of the back pain

Depends on the cause and type of back pain you are suffering from. A treatment session will be designed to lessen the pain and stiffness, a session can consist of mobilisation and soft tissue massage techniques.

In addition to this Dry needling can be used to further help with pain, also a home exercise program is prescribed to help build strength in the core muscle groups and advise is given on how to manage the condition during daily life.
